Reaching Bihar has become increasingly convenient thanks to rapid infrastructure development connecting it to the rest of India and the world.

Reaching Bihar is convenient due to its central location in eastern India.
By Air: The state’s primary international gateway is the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (PAT) in Patna, which has frequent daily flights connecting to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore. For spiritual travelers, the Gaya International Airport (GAY) is a crucial hub, offering seasonal direct flights to Buddhist nations like Thailand, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. Recently, the Darbhanga Airport has also opened up connectivity for North Bihar.

  • By Train: Bihar is the heart of the Indian Railways network. Patna Junction, Gaya Junction, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (Mughalsarai) are some of the busiest stations in India. Premium trains like the Rajdhani Express and Vande Bharat Express offer comfortable and fast connectivity from the national capital, New Delhi.

  • By Road: The state is crisscrossed by major National Highways. NH-19 (Grand Trunk Road) and NH-27 (East-West Corridor) provide excellent road connectivity for road trippers entering from Uttar Pradesh or West Bengal. State-run BSRTC buses and private luxury Volvo buses connect major cities like Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Bhagalpur efficiently.
